Bits of Becky: April

What's been happening in my life lately and with some Instagram shots from the month! (follow me @bforbecky)

DUDE, May is flying by! It's already the 15th and I have yet to do my April review. Craaazy!

Reading: Still on the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. (In May) I just finished up the last one! Those books were total awesomeness.

Watching: I've finally watched Downton Abbey! My mother in law went on a trip to England and one of her stops was at the castle were Downton Abbey was filmed. My husband and I watched the first couple episodes in honor of her trip and got hooked!

Listening: Iron and Wine's new album Ghost on Ghost came out in April and like with any new jams of mine, I'm listening to it on repeat.

Crafting: I assume you all saw the Snack Attack dress

Offline: A complete kitchen overall began this month, when it will end no one knows! My birthday!

Hey- I've gotten an email from a reader about not being able to comment on my blog!!! Anyone else having issues with this?? If so hit me up so we can fix this problem! ----> Bisforbeckystets@gmail.com

FurryFriday-1
Brought to you by Steph and Becky!

Hey I'm Amanda and more importantly this is Charlie. He's a handsome guy. Charlie is a Blue Heeler/Australian cattle dog from Prineville, Oregon. He has traveled across the country with my boyfriend and me to live in the East Coast. He goes by Charlie and Chuck. Charlie herds humans if people move past him too fast and that also includes humans on bicycles. When he was a puppy, he bit a moving bike tire and got pretty tore up. Through the accident he lost a canine tooth but luckily he is fine today. He is friends with Becky's fur sisters even though they annoy him with their constant barking when they are at his house.

He gives great puppy hugs, will occasionally bite table legs when he gets nervous, majorly haaaates baths and does some cute morning puppy stretches (seen above). That's my Chuck. Thanks for letting me share his furriness with you!

Amanda does not blog but can sometimes be seen on B is for Becky.

Snack Attack Dress

Most of my April sewing time was spent on one fancy project for a friend. My friend Lottie wanted a snazzy frock to wear to the Sledfest event and for a photoshoot she was having at Old Sled Works. I think the dress turned out fabulous and well pretty much amazing like Lottie herself.
I can't take all the credit for the creation because I did make Lottie slave away in my dining room sewing factory that was in place over the weekends Jonathan was traveling!!

Fabric is Midnight Snack from Alexander Henry

Sledfest 2013

Sledfest was held at Old Sled Works (remember) the other weekend. The event was supposed to be about cars, with some vintage and music in the mix, but it was really about the ladies. They held a "Sled Queen" contest where all the pretty dolled up ladies competed for the title. I did not compete but my friend Lottie did, and her dress was pretty amazing. Details on that are to come.

Spring Bluebirds

We have some spring time friends in our yard. A bluebird couple! They are having babies which is quite exciting.

A funny thing about bluebirds, my father in law is a fan of the bluebird. He goes to some bluebird society meetings and makes these bluebird boxes. He is a bird house bandit because when we told him we had a bluebird sighting at our house this box magically appeared the next day. Last week he stopped by to see if the birds had made his box their home and he discovered the nest. I can't wait to see the little birdies soon.
