Happy weekend oldtimers

My sister just sent these pictures of my grandparents. They totally brightened my Friday afternoon! She found them while helping them move into their new "retirement" residence. How cute were they?? Goodness, my Gpa's bathing suit kills me.

Have a good weekend people. I will be enjoying the sweet sounds of NKOTB- BSB this weekend. I so excited I'ma bout to pee my pants. For real.

Are eyebrows an odd topic?

Here’s my story about eyebrows.
I wanted thicker eyebrows. Don’t ask me why because I don’t really know, I just did. So I spent weeks not plucking those bad boys and slowly, very slowly they started to fill in. I had this tiny little patch where nothing would grow on the one side and I could just barely detect some baby hairs sprouting in that area. I saw the future, nice full voluptuous eyebrows. Then you want to know what happened? A wedding. I couldn’t attend this event with some half caterpillar hairy brows so I had to pluck them back to normal. For weeks I dealt with these hairy eyebrows for nothing really.
And there was my story about eyebrows.

I blog about skirts

This weekend my husband was telling friends about my blog. They asked him what I blog about and he answered "She blogs about skirts". Really. Not that I hide my love for skirts from anyone, I just don't think I have ever dedicated a post to skirts. Now that is changing. I'm not a fashion blogger, but I will allow some room for posts of my lovely skirt collection and the reasons I love skirts. Now no one can said Jonathan lied about my skirt blogging.

Here we go:
Skirt number one: my black and white circle skirt
Reason I love it: it is flowy and one of the only "plain" skirts I have so I can pair it with ANY color I please
Reason one why I love skirts: No pantylines!

Top: Old Navy
Skirt: Anthropologie
Flower Belt: J Crew
Flats: Frye

Scotty blue

When we went to view our awesome new travel trailer the first thing I noticed was that we matched. My finger nails were pretty dead on with the teal paint on the camper. Right then and there I knew this camper and me were going to be BFFs for life. The nail color is technically Essie Mint Candy Apple but from now on to me it will be referred to as Scotty Blue.

When dreams come true

I recently shared my dream of owning a camper with everyone and this weekend our dream came true. Jonathan and I are now proud owners of a 1966 Serro Scotty Sportsman. It is too cute for words! It is 13" total length from the tongue to the bumper, can sleep 4 (I don't know how comfortable the four people will be but it can), and has air conditioning! The travel trailer is in good shape for being as old as it is and we are super excited to restore it and go camping! It is totally ready to go and we could hit the road with it tomorrow if we wanted but I want to make some cosmetic changes to it like reupholstering the cushions, new curtains and a deep cleaning. I love all the original details of the trailer, like that cute doggy decal on the counter!

Now I have to plan where to take this bad boy.

Randoms from the weekend

I don’t know what to say other than this weekend was annoying. It was crazy hot and our air conditioner in the bedroom broke. Then the other oldies that were left with the house didn’t work successfully and that left me crabby. Our TV in the bedroom also broke this weekend. That left me crabbier. Other than that sadness, I spent a large portion of the weekend in the creek or driving so not many pictures were taken. We floated Friday night after temperatures of 102 during the day, then enjoyed frozen cocktails. A road trip on Saturday to buy a little something, as soon as we got home we threw on our bathing suits for some creek floating time AGAIN. Then Sunday we had another mini road trip to hang with some friends and eat crabs. Plus a game of mall madness. Don’t be jealous.

The last post about this wedding. promise

I just wanted to show off the super cute gift I gave the couple. I got the hanging at Elm Studio via etsy. It is so cute I was tempted to get one for myself but that is pretty lame so I just got one made for the newlyweds.

AND I helped the Maid of Honor with her gift to the bride! I found these handkerchiefs at the flea market at scored them for FREE. They were in not in the best shape, or should I say shade because they were yellowed. Luckily my color safe bleach cured them and I stitched them up for my girl Heather. I heard the bride loved them. How could she not?

This ends the wedding posts. Happy?

Philly day two

Saturday after the wedding we headed back into the city for some fun. Did anyone know that Philly has trolleys?  They do! I found this out last winter when we stayed with some friends and drove through West Philly. We didn't ride on them but we rode behind one through town. We thought they would be slow but those trolleys book it! Jonathan and I went to the Mutter Museum to check out some medical oddities. I have been to the museum before but Jonathan had missed out on the trip and wanted to take a look. You should check it out if you're ever in the city. After the tour we walked to the love statue and then over to Rittenhouse Square and went to the best Anthropologie ever. The store there is four stories and is in an awesome building. I go there 70% for the merchandise and 30% because the building is amazing to look at. After some gelato and window shopping a stand full of succulent house plants we hit the road for home.

Philly day one

Friday, the day of the wedding, we took of work and ventured downtown Philadelphia to enjoy the day off. By the time we arrived in the city we were starving so we went to Reading Terminal Market because all we could think of was food. That place has food, lots and lots of food. We were too hungry and too impatient to look at all the vendors and migrated to a deli. We got a reuben and rachel that probably weighed a pound each, they were huge and the pictures don't do them justice. Oh and they were awesome. We bought some other snacks for the day and headed out around the neighborhood. We didn't have much time before we wanted to get checked into the hotel but it was a beautiful day to take a leisurely walk around the city.

The wedding or main event of the week

The Bride and Groom

Maid of Honor HEATHER

The wedding of our friends Amanda and George was the reason for our long weekend in the Philly area. Remember Mo from here? They were married at the Tyler Arboretum in Media, PA on Friday night. Let me tell you that it was the cutest wedding, maybe ever. Well of course not as cute as mine but you know a close second place. The arboretum was a perfect location for her wedding. Jonathan and I went exploring the grounds during the cocktail hour and found beautiful gardens, turtles, chipmunks, a pond and of course huge awesome trees. The couple was married under a massive pine tree that by our guess was 200 years old. I just could not get over the landscape. It was the perfect summery garden wedding and a super fun night. We made use of the open bar and air conditioned dance floor, really Jonathan made use of the open bar while I made use of the dance floor. Dancing is my favoite. I may or may not have requested a song by Glee. Don't jugde...

The flowers were done by my very talented sister in law. So if you are going married in the Pennsylvania area call her!
