I don't know how Project Runway contestants do it

The only thing I wanted to do while in New York was to shop for fabric. I have a little camper that needs spruced up and I wasn't having any luck finding fabric around here that would work for me. All that you can find in Central PA sometimes are calicos with kitty cat prints. Not what I'm going for. We went to Mood Fabrics and I don't know how anyone could find what fabric they need there in under five hours. I swear we moved in. We had a snack on a couch while calculating how many yards we would need to curtain a dining room (Sarah's project) or recover a camper bed. Maybe I could have been a little more prepared with my yardage needed worked out, but you never know the width of the fabric! Good excuse, right? I really didn't need the pressure and looks from a sales person in tight red pants. Surprisingly I was decisive that day and I left Mood with enough fabric to redo my camper plus some. The SIL on the other hand couldn't find anything. The next day we continued our search at Zarin fabrics where Sarah found the fabric of her dreams but still couldn't lock it down with a purchase. She did get a swatch which was a big deal at the time. Fabric shopping takes so much energy, I was exhausted after leaving these large stores. I don't know what it was. Maybe the pressure of a big decision? Maybe the fact that you are looking through fabrics that are $35 a yard and you need 12 yards and you have to really be creative to not spend a thousand dollars? Being creative. That's what stole my energy.
