This week I bought a new camera. I have been putting this off for years. There were so many things I loved about my beloved Canon Powershot. The back has a screen that flips out so you can take the best kissy face pictures for your Myspace page or drunken group shots, it took the best pictures of anyone I knew three years ago and it was free. It served me good, it worked so why get a new one? Well it royally sucks at taking pictures in low light. If I wanted to do any inside pictures for the blog I had from about 11am to 1pm on a sunny Saturday or Sunday. Also try carrying that thing in our purse! It's a tank. It's also a joke when you need to put it in a pocket. So, that was it. I had to retire my Powershot A620. It was a sad but exciting day.
I'm introducing you to my new friend Canon Powershot SX230 HS. If you look at the two pictures (top with the new camera bottom with the old) you can see the difference. The new camera I took one picture. I knew it wasn't going to be blurry. My poor old guy, oh man I took like 20 shots to try and not get a blurry one. Now I'm 110% happy I choose to get a new camera.
Many of you may question my choice in a point and shoot and not a DLSR. Well I am tired of carrying around a big camera, I'm not going to get an even larger one. I was going to get a Canon ELPH but they don't have the programmable setting so I went with the Powershot. I am brand loyal to Canon because of my old trusty camera, I've had this bad boy for over five years and I haven't had any problems. Even after I lost it on my honeymoon and it sat at an outside restaurant through a rainstorm. I can't say enough wonderful things about my old Canon and I'm expecting just as much from my new one!
