It seems like every year we have Christmas tree drama. We are a frugal couple when it comes to some things and Christmas trees are one of the big ones. I just can't see spending a lot of money on a tree that will only beautify our home for a short number of weeks.
The Christmas of 2009 was the most memorable tree drama. We stopped at multiple tree stands trying to find a small tree. We lived in a small row home so we could only fit a certain size tree in our place. I swear all the trees were grown for mini-mansions, they were huge! We finally found a tree the size we wanted but the price tag was way more than we wanted to pay. We went home empty handed every night for like a week and I had a break down. I'm certain non-Christmas spirit swear words were involved and a threat to Jonathan of an empty stocking. When I came home the next night I found him home with the tree, all members of the family in tacky sweaters and Christmas music blaring. Santa was very nice to Jonathan that year.
Now we are here again at Christmas with no tree. Artificial is the way I'm heading this year but I'm still torn. If I do artificial then I will never have Christmas tree drama ever again, it's kind of a huge commitment. I don't know if I can handle it!
