Flea Market Season!

It's that time of year again, flea market season! The local flea market runs year long weather permitting and this was our first free Sunday that the weather was nice enough for us to go. My friend Amanda spent one of her first days back in Pennsylvania with me fleaing! So happy to have her around again on the regular. She purchased some deer antlers for jewelry and Jonathan bought a rusty piece of an old hanging light to 'man craft' something out of it.

We also ran into my friend Lottie who is a fleaing regular. You can benefit from her treasure hunting at her Etsy shop Wolf City Anteeks. Check out her shop and say hi!

I blog about skirts, returns!

Don't think the cold winter weather turned me away from my love of skirts. I wore a skirt 90% of the winter and now spring. I do now get to enjoy the weekly Jean Fridays at the workplace so that throws of my percentage. I'm glad the sun is back past 5pm so I can show of my skirt collection to you once again! I just got this pretty little thing at the 40% off Old Navy sale last week. It screamed my name.

Back again with the skirt love:
Skirt number six: teal floral patternReason I love it: It's light and breezy and I'm going to wearing the crap out of it this summer. Plus it was cheapy cheap $$$.Reason one why I love skirts: Elastic waists! Sometimes skirts for me are just fancy sweatpants.

Wine Wednesdays

Today is my favorite holiday. Wine Wednesdays! I've been trying to get my work to recognize the weekly holiday but so far I've had no luck. So I will be celebrating by myself tonight from the hours of 5pm to whenever I pass out. How to celebrate Wine Wednesdays is drink a bottle of wine, maybe eat dinner or maybe skip dinner, whine about your day/ week/ year/ life and then pass out. My celebration also involves kissing dogs but that's not necessary. So tonight I'm whining about working overtime and how my contacts give me a headache!

Have fun on your Wine Wednesday and remember Wine Wednesday is a stay at home holiday. No driving and whining.

What's Happening

A list of random things happening over at the Stets household:

Joy got a ragamuffin hair cut late Sunday night. Poor Joy looks like a baby puppy with short hair and a lion's head. She looks very silly.

I was gifted a Kindle for my birthday and I have yet to use it. My current read (in book form) is taking me forever to finish.

I am currently listening to the Harry Potter series via audio book. I read the first three back in the day but I started at the beginning anyways. After my last horrible random selection of audio book at the library I wanted to pick something safe.

I'm watching Weeds. I'm on the third season and it makes me want to punch everyone. Why is this Nancy person so dumb?!?

I walked 9.13 miles Sunday morning. Half of those miles were in the cold and rain. It was it benefit the local rail trail or else I would have stayed in bed. It took me the rest of the day to feel warm again even with the wood stove burning.

I was crafty this weekend which makes me happy.

After weeks of searching I found a bathing suit that covers the goods but isn't momish. I had a celebration dance party by myself after in came in the mail.

I made pancakes for two meals in a row. I was in the mood for pancakes this weekend if you couldn't guess that. Also too lazy to come up with anything else or go to the grocery.

Sundays with the sisters (one day late)

I'm a day late with posting this cuteness from the weekend but I'm sure you don't mind. These adorable ladies were pouting from the lack of love they were receiving while I was crafting away this weekend.

Plant Restriction

I've gotten a little out of control with the amount of house plants around here. Once I successfully kept something alive for longer than a month I started buying up anything that was cute. Now those little miniature plants are graduating into larger pots and taking up more space. It's all I can do to not buy another round of baby plants to fill up those tiny pots. I've put myself on restriction from buying more plants. Well, at least more house plants. I do have to landscape this summer and I'll need plants for that.

This weekend the West Elm pop up shop in Towson Town was closing which offered 40% off everything in the store. I finally bought one of those hanging glass balls (bottom picture) that I could never spend the full price money on and a fish bowl terrarium. So after filling those two puppies the plant buying is over for awhile. I am open to plant donations though. Just throwing that out there.

Jonathan on Why I Drive Everywhere

"I love when I fall asleep when Becky's driving because it's like I'm time traveling. A 2 hour car ride was like 20 minutes to me."

I hate falling a sleep in a moving vehicle. Maybe it's control issues, who knows. I also like driving. That could also be about control issues. The one time I did sleep in a car Jonathan and I were on our way to Vermont and when I woke up he had missed the exit and driven 45 minutes out of the way. I've learned my lesson and now I just drive. Also I like to give J a thrill by helping him time travel.

A Hootin' Time

Saturday night we traveled down to Baltimore to celebrate my brother in law's 40th birthday. We went to the Owl Bar which is located in the fancy Belvedere.

The Owl Bar is a sweet location straight out of the 1920s. The story is if the owl's eyes were lit then it was safe to order alcohol during prohibition. Lucky for us the lights were on Saturday. Plus they had  brick oven pizzas which I devoured.

The funny thing was the Owl Bar was in the back of the building and there were these huge ballrooms in the front with two weddings going on. So when you needed to use the restroom you were surronded by fancy ladies in bridesmaid dresses too drunk to stand up straight. And all we really wanted to do was crash one of the weddings to get our dance on. So the sister in laws got our dance on in the lobby.

Beer/Egg Hunt

Heather (3rd place winna) and I

It was the 2nd Annual Beer/Egg Hunt at my friends Dawn and Trent's house! Can't believe I didn't get any pictures with the hosts! So last year there were tons of beers in festive colorful wrappings hidden throughout their property. You had to find a beer and sit on location and drink it to score the points on the can. There were some problems with that though. Number one was warm beer. After chugging multiple warm Lions Head pounders you didn't want to keep going. This year the hosts hid eggs around the yard with numbers in the eggs. These numbers told them what beer you got, how many points and if you won a prize. I won some bunny ears and I drank some beer but didn't win. My girl Heather though came in third place, whoop whoop! A few of us then camped out (first night out in the Scotty for the year!!) and had campfire breakfast in the morning.

Thanks for an awesome time Trent and Dawn!!

Birth Month Celebration!

I woke up Monday morning and realized that real life has been happening around me. I was focused on the sunny weather, my two week spring break and my birfday that I forgot other major things that need done around me. Taxes are due in a week and oh yeah school starts today and I have yet to order my books. Yikes. Good thing I have free two day shipping with my buddy named Amazon. Yuck. Those two weeks went sooooooo fast. Luckily this is my LAST TERM and I will have a majorly big party when this shit it ova. Maybe I'll have a margarita the size of a baby swimming pool. My friend Heather always suggests that for a party but it never seems to happen. I will fill a baby pool up with margarita and just lay in that shit and drink it up. Okay home girl needs a glass of wine.

Anyways, My BFF Cami and I share the same birth month and we went out Friday to celebrate. Sangria, mac n' cheese and awesomeness, just what a birthday celebration calls for. For my for real birth DAY I did the usual Easter holiday business. I was really hoping that some one would have had an ice cream cake in there somewhere but that didn't happen. My husband didn't buy me a present either so I ordered myself some stuff today to make up for the lack of birthday spirit around me. Why am I the only person who celebrates my birthday all month? I do not know.
