Saturday I busted out my excellent party planning skills and hosted a bridal shower for my friend Cami. It is the 2nd most important wedding hosting event only to be trumped by the bachlorette which is coming up soon! All I needed were my peonies, a dozen borrowed vintage tablecloths, lots of food, tons of desserts, wine, sun shine and clear skies. It was a tad hot but that's what the chilled wine was for! Cami was actually surprised! I'm very impressed with the group that we were able to pull it off. Everyone had a great time and Cami received loads of home goods which her dog will indubitably destroy in the near future.
Peonies bloom around Memorial Day weekend. That was perfect for me because of a special event I was planning for this past weekend. So mother nature got a little crazy, Spring came early and so did the peony blooming! On Mother's Day I was about to cry when my gorgeous peonies started blooming two weeks early! Thankfully, I have a florist sister in-law that gave me secret peony tip. Right when the peony buds are about to open and you can see the color, cut them off, wrap them in newspaper and keep them in the refrigerator. Make sure they are dry before refrigeration! The flowers will last up to 4-5 weeks. Bring them out a day or two before your event and they will burst open in all their glory!
Four day holiday weekend! Whoop whoop! This week has been a blur with little projects and major homework. Yes I have three more weeks to complain about homework. I have a graduation project and I have to write a 15+ page paper and do some crazy presentation in two weeks. I haven't really started it yet and I getting cranky. Cranky!
Anyways, not too much on the picture end this week. So I will share with you pictures of my loves that were taken this week.
Jonathan, the man behind the camera. (also do you like J's cousin trying to give me model coaching?)
Pearl! Also known currently as Baby Ears. The picture below will show you how she got that name.
Joy! She has the biggest ears ever for a 15 pound dog and makes Pearl's ears look miniature!
I'm sure I've said before that I wanted a bee tattoo and that dream finally came true after years of talking about it. It's still in the healing process but I wanted to bust it out for you all to see. Bee for Becky. Kinda the inspiration for the blog name.
I picked up this cute little vintage Lilly Putizer dress one day treasure hunting with my sister in law. I'm always attracted to cute prints and this one has little lion heads all over it. It's not a coincidence that the dress matches our camper. I buy lots of things Scotty blue now, like nail polish and tote bags. I almost bought the fur ladies Scotty blue dog collars but I didn't want them mistaken for boys. So, yes the camper and I coordinate. It's just one big awesome accessory.
This weekend was the annual Jalopy Showdown at Latimore Valley Fairgrounds. Hot rods and Rat rods galore. The fairgrounds has a dirt track for the cars to show off their power. Jonathan camped in for the weekend so although we don't have a show car we do have a show camper because our Scotty was put up front. My sister and her family were also there. My niece is the cutest thing ever, right? This time every year my husband gets in the kick to build a rat rod. We will see if this is the year he accomplishes that goal. We will give him a goal of a year for the Jalopy show 2013!
Well, just one sister. I discovered two packs of instamax film in the back of the refrigerator that expired a couple months ago so I busted it out this weekend. Here is Joy's first ever instant photo. She was a bit scared of the picture that busted out the top of the camera. Pearl ran for when she saw this monster was back in picture action. Lame.
Enjoy the remaining minuted of your weekend! It's a short week coming up! I can't wait for my upcoming four day weekend!!!!
