We didn't really have a clue as to what Gatlinburg was about. We thought we were headed into the mountains, which we did, but we ended up in tourist trap of neon lights. Our camp ground was a short distance from both the Smokey Mountain National Park and the town of Gatlinburg so we got to experience it all. The shops in the town reminded me of my beach spot only with out the salty air and sun tans. It was fun to walk around for a night or two but we are very happy that we missed the crazy tourist season there. That happened the night before we rolled into town.
Have you ever been to the smokey town of Gatlinburg? What did you think?
