On this Furry Friday we welcome two super cute squishy faces and Jackie from Jackie Jade!
I have 2 pugs. One is Bowie who we got on Christmas Eve 2010. He was 10 weeks old when we got him. He was from a breeder in Tennessee who bred show dogs. He had 2 white paws and apparently that wasn't show quality so they were getting rid of him. My boyfriend's cousin heard about him from her vet and got him for us. He was the tiniest cutest puppy.
In September of 2012, we decided it was time for Bowie to have a sibling. I wanted another pug and found Rosie at a local rescue. She was found roaming the streets and no one claimed her. The rescue thought she was about 4 or 5 years old. We took her home and it was a little touch and go there for awhile between the two of them. But now they are best friends. They both love laying around a lot and are food obsessed. Bowie is so playful and fun and Rosie is a sweet little snuggler.
We are so happy that we were able to rescue two dogs (even though Bowie was only sorta rescued). We knew we wanted pugs because we wanted lap dogs and originally were living in an apartment. I think it's important to pick a dog that fits your lifestyle. And when we decided to get another dog, we made sure the dogs met each other and seemed ok together before we took her home. Lastly, I think if you are set on a particular breed, if you wait long enough you will likely be able to find a great rescue dog!
