Lonely Girl Spotted

Did you get my Gossip Girlish title there? I'm so clever.

Recently my husband was laid off and it was kinda awesome, but that's not what I'm talking about today. During his layoff Jonathan finally decided to make the leap and join forces with his brother and be self employed. That's great and his future is bright, but there is also a down side to all of this. Jonathan has to travel to where the work is. This could mean weeks maybe even months where he will not be home. I know lots of people are separated from their loved ones for long periods of time but I'm taking it kinda hard. I'm used to seeing him everyday and in all honesty he's the center of my world. It's no surprise to me that the first week apart was super hard. Luckily my friend's have been keeping me busy and he had an unexpected return the other day, so my days haven't been so bad. It's just hard looking at the weeks ahead not knowing when he will be home and missing him like crazy.

Tell me, have you guys been separated from your lovers? What are your tips for living a lonely girl life?

  1. Just keep busy. My husband suddenly had to start traveling for work last year, the longest trip being 2 weeks with him on the other side of the world and no phone calls while he was there. We went through SuperStorm Sandy and a November snowstorm while he was gone. It was... inconvenient, lonely... but I try to keep my mind occupied. Still miss him, but I try to find what's enjoyable about his absence--the good side--and focus on that. Less laundry and dishes to wash. No crappy movies. That sort of thing. :)

Congrats to him on his endeavor!
